If a bond is bought from Jagex it is tradeable, but if one is gotten from the Grand Exchange or another player then in order to trade it again the player is required to pay a tax on it (the amount of tax paid is 10% of its Grand Exchange value). There is no tax charged to exchange a bond for membership, spins or RuneCoins.
